JOB PURPOSE To be an active member of the team ensuring that all children receive high quality care. Ensuring all children in their care are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs. To have an effective daily supervision of the nursery in accordance with the requirements of the Nursery’s policies and procedures and the statutory requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. To ensure all agreed policies and procedures are maintained in the nursery at all times through supervision, role modelling and supporting the team Acting as a named co-ordinator relevant to their skills or training as designated by the Nursery Manager. JOB DUTIES Caring, Learning and Development - To effectively deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and to provide a robust education development programme for all age groups, which meets the children’s learning needs and interests. - To manage the record keeping system for children’s development and support nursery staff in completing and maintaining these records on a regular basis. - To establish and maintain positive working relationships with parents/carers in a way that supports children’s learning and development and values parental involvement. Ensuring regular communication and interaction with parents, including events such as parent’s evenings, information sessions and newsletters. Health and Safety - To have key holder responsibility for the nursery premises ensuring that the building is both safe and well maintained at all times and that the need for repairs are promptly reported to the Manager. - To be responsible for Health and Safety issues within the nursery ensuring that all policies relevant are complied with. - To ensure the Health and Safety of all children, parents, staff and visitors are maintained to a high level and the completion of Daily Risk Assessments are carried out prior to opening of the nursery.
