House sitting in Guernsey. My family and I took the decision to try house sitting to see if we enjoyed it. My husband has always been very keen and would like to try house swapping but I have always felt our holiday time is limited and therefore very precious. Any problems would ruin our holiday and limited family time. After much research we found the perfect house sitting arrangement in Guernsey. We got the idea from Globalappointments.com which we recently used to obtain an Au Pair. The house had large grounds, a bed room for everyone, the beach was within easy walking distance and we only had to care for the garden and two cats! The owner was away for the whole of August and so we had to commit ourselves for a long trip. Thankfully we had a wonderful time. The sun shone most of the time, the beach was indeed only 5 mins on foot away, and my two children fell in love with the cats! What a wonderful way to experience a new place. We were not in a resort where everything is provided for you, we had to find the local supermarket and pick our way through little country lanes. I don’t think any of us will ever forget the best family holiday we have ever had. We have already used Globalappointments.com again and found some where for our short Christmas holiday. We are staying in a little cottage in Dorset, this time with a dog and some geese. None of us can wait.
