Welcome to the first edition of the Global Appointmtments.com monthly newsletter.
Our aim is to keep users up to date with childcare and homecare market changes, and provide a means of exchanging ideas, good practice, and information amongst our readers.
Listening and responding:
We feel the promoters of any good website should listen and respond to the needs and suggestions of their users.
Globalappointmtnents.com has been inundated by requests from families and party organisers alike to develop
a new party section running along similar lines to our popular nanny and family advertising suite. Well here it is:
NEW PARTY SECTION
This has taken the design team a few months to implement
and we hope you like the result. To help this section grow and develop, please do suggest a party entertainer
if you have a good one up your sleeve and we will add him/her to our listings (please check not already present), or provide feedback on any that you have personal experience of in our listings.
Fireworks night:
Now that Bonfire season has arrived, we would like to draw your attention to matters of safety. Whilst fireworks and bonfires are fantastic fun for the whole family they are also potentially very dangerous. You may not know that a simple sparkler reaches a temperature of up to 2000°C. That's over 15 times the boiling point of water and yet we give them to small children. A rocket can reach a speed of 150 miles an hour and is the most common cause of firework injury.
Whether you are planning your own party or visiting an organised event, please take time to read the guidelines issued by the fire service:
www.fireservice.co.uk
Christmas and babysitting:
It may seem a little early to start considering your Christmas and New Year babysitting requirements but with only
days, and counting, until Christmas, time is not on your side. Nannies and Babysitters are in great demand during this period and usually get booked up very early. Register NOW if you are new to GlobalAppointment and save disappointment.
New family
Calling all child carers: Please Register NOW if you are new to GlobalAppointments. There are lots of desperate families out there looking for you over this busy Christmas period.

On-line shopping:
Christmas shopping has never been easier. Most shops and catalogues have large easy to use web sites. The staff at Globalappointments.com have contacted a number of large on-line children’s toyshops to gather details on delivery dates and availability. Most shops have issued this advice: - Shop before the end of November to avoid disappointments. An item ordered within 5 days of Christmas is unlikely to arrive in time. Most have said if stocks run out between now and Christmas, delivery cannot be guaranteed in time.
Childrens travel section:
During the first few months of 2006 the Globalappointments design team will start work on the new Children’s Travel section. To help this section provide as much quality information to parents as possible we are asking all our users to write a comment about a successful or unsuccessful trip they have taken with children. We are interested in hearing about the facilities different airlines; hotels, tour operators and resorts have for children of all ages. If you can spare a few moments please help other users with children to have successful holidays.
Thanks.
Cooking/household tips:
We are starting a new competition! The most appealing and creative children’s recipe, or house hold tip, that is sent to us each month will be posted on our website for other families to try. Please only send recipes which you have personally tried, and been pleased with.
Party games:
Please send us details of any really popular party games which your children enjoy. They will be added to a collection of party games for everyone to use.
Christmas and Birthday card design with competition:
Use the Christmas/birthday cards section to describe how your child has made a Christmas or birthday card. Also change the default banner to a picture of your card.
Alternatively, send in pictures of your children’s homemade Christmas cards, and a description of how to make them, to customerservices@globalappointments.com and we will post, with acknowledgements, what we regard as the best design on our website for everyone to see!
To post travel experiences, recipes, household tips, christmas card ideas, party games, etc to GlobalAppointments click the link:
