  Booking a College or University Visit
   
Dear Child Care Faculty,

Globalappointments Child Care We would like to offer your students free job advertising! We are a Global advertising company specialising in child care with typically 600 jobs available across the UK at any one time. Our purpose is to enable families to search successfully and quickly for quality child care on the Internet, and for child carers to find suitable work. With this in mind we would like to offer students on any of the following courses:

CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education students
Cache Level 3 NVQ in Children's Care, Learning and Development
Cache NVQ Level 4 in Children's Care, Learning and Development
Level 4 Professional Diploma in Child Health Care

, or equivalent courses, the opportunity to find work by advertising with us. If on canvassing your students you find that there are at least 15 who would like to sign up with us we would be delighted to come and visit, and even make it an annual event. Our Web Site

Book a visit:
If you would like us to visit your level 3 or 4 students and explain our services please use the attached booking form and we will contact you shortly afterwards to make final arrangements.

We will be in your area (SW London) during the week of: 1st November 2010

The visit agenda:
  1. Set up time with access to computer room: 30 minutes.
  2. Give a short introductory talk lasting about 10 minutes.
  3. Accompany students to an IT room and assist them in placing their personal advert (45 - 60 minutes)
  4. When the above task is complete, time permitting, students will have the opportunity to explore our website in more detail, taking a look at our information pages, exclusive chat rooms, etc, and ask questions.
  5. Total time of visit: about 120 minutes.
Student preparation for the visit:
Student are required to fill in a computer data sheet before the visit. The sheet is in MS Word format for printing and 2 copies are required (one for the student and one for the visitor). Upon arrival, at the commencement of the set up time, the Globalappointments visitor will expect to receive a copy of all the data sheets. Students will spend most of their time entering data into the computers using their copy of the data sheet, with our assistance if necessary. We will run a check after the visit on each students advert and carry out any corrections/additions using our copy of the sheets.
The student statement on the left of the form should address the following:
  1. The course they are studying and its completion date.
  2. The extent of their experience in child care. e.g. families they have worked for as a babysitter with dates, times.
  3. Why they have chosen a career in child care.
  4. An indication of the number of references they have to offer e.g. from families they have baby sat for.
  5. Chosen career (e.g. nanny) with reasons.
  6. Hobbies and other interests.
  7. It will also help if they have an up-to-date CV which can be attached to their advert.
  8. It goes without saying that their statements should be accurate and corrected for spelling and grammatical errors.

Globalappointments terms for the visit:
This service is provided free of charge. We will however supply Establishments with a small number of Globalappointments posters at the time of the visit which would need to be displayed in prominent positions on student notice boards. This is for the benefit of other College/University students who might need part-time work to supplement their income.
